Amspacher,
Michael Lawrence. Born October 30, 1963 in York, PA; departed for God's
mansion August 4, 2004 from the Leestown Veterans Care Facility (16-2)
after a lengthy illness. He moved to Lexington from Dallas, Texas to
spend his last days on earth closer to family. He made his home in
Dallas for 16 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert R.
Amspacher, his mother Martha Hahn Oberlander, his stepmother, Lois
Amspacher, and his stepfather Clinton Oberlander. Michael graduated from
Dover High School, Dover, PA in 1982, where he was a diver for the swim
team. He had attended college in Texas. He enlisted in the Army in 1982,
where among other duties he served as a lifeguard, swim and life saving
instructor, and a supply specialist. His assignments were Fort Hood, TX
and Nurnberg, West Germany. The Army awarded him 2 Achievement Awards
and other certificates acknowledging his outstanding work. He received
an honorable discharge for medical reasons. Michael leaves behind a very
special friend of 5 years, his dog, "Relish". Locally, he is survived by
his sister, Carol (James) Stutts and nephew Scott Stutts (Berea, KY). He
is also survived by a brother, David (Debra) Amspacher (Dover, PA), and
two other sisters, Vivian J. Amspacher (York, PA), Brenda S. Grasser
(Larry Ambrose) (Stewartstown, PA), one half sister, Wendy Amspacher
(York, PA); 2 step brothers, Randy (Sarah) Everhart (Dover, PA) and
Raymond (Jennifer) Everhart (Mansfield, TX), 3 step sisters, Kathy
(Robert) Jones (Dover, PA), Joy (Randy) Rohler (Gettysburg, PA), and
Cindy (Barry) Jacobs (York, PA), many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles,
and cousins. Reppert Funeral Home, Berea, KY is handling final
arrangements. Michael's wishes to have his cremains scattered at sea by
the U.S. Navy will be honored. A private memorial service will be
scheduled at a later date. |
