Dorothy Olsen Adams
RICHMOND - Dorothy Olsen Adams, 85, of Camelot Drive, Lexington, formerly of
Richmond, died Wed., Oct. 20, 2004, at her home. She was born in Dorchester, MA
on January 23, 1919, and was the widow of David M. Adams. She was a retired Waco
Elementary School Librarian, in Madison County, and an active member of the
First Christian Church of Richmond. She was Past President of the CKEA and a
member of the AAUW, where she founded the Widow to Widow Program. She had served
for many years as a Sunday school teacher at her church, where she also sang in
the church choir. In addition, she was a member of the Richmond Choral Society,
of the League of Women Voters, and numerous other organizations. Survivors
include two daughters, Barbara Adams of Lexington and Nancy Grider (Jeffrey) of
Berea; three sons, David Adams Jr (Mary Morgan) and Gordon Adams, both of
Lexington, and George Adams (LaJuana) of Winterhaven, FL; one brother, Robert
Wendall Olsen, of Rotunda West, FL; nine grandchildren and two great
grandchildren. Services will be 2 pm Mon., at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral
Home with Dr. Thom Gibson and Dr. James Cox officiating. Burial will follow in
the Richmond Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4 to 7 pm Sun. at the
funeral home. Casket bearers are Kurt Adams, Michael Adams, John R. Adams,.
William Long, William D. Adams, Otis Bundy, Alan Bundy and Jeffrey Grider.
