Will of Isaac Williams

Robertson County Court

Mt Olivet, Kentucky

 

I Isaac Williams, Colored, being in good health and of sound and disposing mind, but knowing the certainty of life and the certainty of death, do hereby make and publish and declare this writing to be my last will and testament.

  First—After my demise, I desire that my just debts be first fully paid.

  Second—I will and bequeath to my beloved wife Nancy Williams, all my estate of whatever kind or nature, to have and to be held by and unto my said wife Nancy Williams, during her lifetime.

  Third­­ After my death of my said wife, Nancy Williams, I will and bequeath my said estate in fee and absolutely to my stepdaughter Lettie Mayberry.

  Fourth __ I hereby designate and appoint my said wife Nancy Williams, Execetrix of this my will and ask that she be permitted to qualify as such without bond.

  In testimony whereof, I have unto Subscribed my name, this December 3, 1915, and in the presence of the undersigned witnesses.                         his

We, the undersigned Witness to the signature of Issac Williams, colored, to the above will saw him sign his name to the foregoing instrument of writing and he signed the same in our presence of each other, this 3rd day of December 1915.

State of Kentucky

County of Robertson, Sct.

              I John T. Brown, Clerk of the county Court for the County and State aforesaid do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument of writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Isaac Williams, deceased, was on the 20th day of January 1919, produced in court, and read and proven by the oath of Samuel Throckmorton attesting witness thereto and the order of probating said will continued wit March 12th, 1919 on account of the absence of Campbell Cleaver the other attesting witness thereto and again on March 12th said will was read and proven by the sworn testimony of Campbell Cleaver thereupon said instrument of writing was probated and ordered to be recorded as and for the last will and testament of Isaac Williams, deceased, whereupon the same together with this certificate has been duly recorded.

   Witness my hand this 12th day of March 1918
