This indenture made and entered
into this 29th day of August in the year of our Lord 1816. This
being my last will and Testament. In the name of God Amen, I, Sally Hawkins,
of Scott County, Kentucky being of sound mind and in my natural ___ do
hereby ratify Confirm and make this my last will and Testament.
First I give up my soul to God
who gave it. Trusting the Jesus Christ only for the Salvation of my soul and
my body and my body to be decently buried at the discretion of my friends
and it respects all my worldly goods. They are to be disposed as hereafter
designated.
First I will and bequeath two
dollars to William Wilson having provided for him sufficiently. I will
and bequeath so much of my own money as will pay the Live(?) heretofore
named the full value of Negro Joseph now in my possession or I wish him to
have his freedom at my death
..should he be valued at seven hundred dollars
or upwards
.this to be Strictly attended to by my Exos. and heirs as it

He should be set at liberty and I also will and bequeath to said Negro
Joseph thirty dollars of my Estate and all the balance of my estate I do

of the said Lucy Davis and her children it is to be distinctly understood
that the property hereby given to my said daughter Lucy
not to be
subject to pay any debts but what she may contract herself I do also give to
my said daughter and her children the following property to wit three beds,
bedsteads & furniture, two tables, one __? and candlestand, two chairs, and
cradle all the kitchen furniture, which I purchased from Daniel W. Davis,
also one __?, one writing desk, one pair of candlesticks, one cow it is to
be for them and distinctly understood, that I give and bequeath to my said
daughter Lucinda Davis and her children the one equal part of the Estate of
John Hawkins decd. which I hold at this time and which Interest I have
purchased of Daniel W. Davis. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand
and seal this 17th day of June 1817.

James Bunch, son-in-law, one
thousand and forty-five dollars and 42 cents on the same and the interest
that may be on the same to him and his heirs forever.
I give and bequeath unto James
