“Elder
Charles Wm. Bransford was
born
February 15, 1874,
in the
county of Edmonson and state of Kentucky. He was the eldest son of
Henry and Alice Bransford. He attended school in the rural district,
finishing his course under Samuel Ferguson, of Brownsville, Ky. He
professed a hope in Christ under Reverends L. Shobe and John
Garnett, February 10, 1895 and claimed a call to the ministry the
same year licensed to preach by the Pleasant Union Baptist church
which connection he has held since while in school at Frankfort, Ky.
He was called to take charge of a church on Elkhorn creek, this
being his first charge. He is now pastor of Bearwallow Church,
Woodsonville, at Rowletts, Ky., and Queens Chapel at Hiseville on
the following days: first named, 1 Sunday, 4th Sunday and
2nd Sunday.”
Mrs.
Alice C. Garvin, of Mammoth Cave,
Ky. She is the daughter of Benson and Fanny a. Preston and the
granddaughter of Jacob and Sarah Jane Coats of Glasgow Junction,
Ky.”
Mr. and Mrs. Charlie White
and Daughter. Mr. Charlie White, the son of Mr. James and Mrs.
Mealie White, was born February 24, 1875. He professed hope in
Christ in September 1893, and united with the Little Hope Baptist
Church. He married Mollie Lee February 27, 1898. To this union five
children were born. He is now deacon of Little Hope Church. His
occupation is rock mason and machinist. Mrs. Mollie White, the
daughter of Mr. Josh and Mrs. Vina Lee, was born October 5, 1879.
She professed hope in Christ in 1893 and joined the Little Woodland
Baptist Church. Later she joined the Cowles Chapel Baptist Church
when it was organized in 1895 and has been recording secretary of
that church for twenty-three years and is still in the service of
the church in that capacity. Miss Charline White, the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Charlie White, was born May 17, 1900. She professed a
hope in Christ in 1915 and joined Cowles Chapel Baptist Church. Miss
Catherine is a lady of fine talent and a good Sunday School worker
and is expecting to be able to enter high school after one more
session in the common school.
