Beaver Dam Baptist Church, Edmonson Co KY 1817-1847 Minutes

 

3rd Sat Jan 1820:        “Black Brother Bobb excluded from the church”

 

1st Sat July 1821:       “Brother Charles (Martin Elmore’s slave) received by letter.”

 

4th Sat Nov 1827:        “Brother Will, a slave formerly owned by James H. Cole granted letter of

                         dismission due to his living too far from this church. “

 

3rd Sat July 1829:       “Received Wilson, slave of Levi Moore and unnamed woman belonging to

                         Isaac Whitlow and Silvey Caroline, a woman of Frederick Fort.”

 

3rd Sat Aug 1829:         “Received Milley, a servant of Hardin Camp by experience and Phillis, a servant

                         of Davis Still.”

 

18 Oct 1829:             “Received Lucy, a woman of collor belonging to Asle Davis.”

 

13 Mar 1842:             “Received Jesse, a man of culler” [no owner shown.]

 

13 Mar 1842:             “Received by experience Jener, a survent [sic] of Henry Emmerson that

                         been baptized by Moses Allen as a member of the Brownsville Church

                         the case was this it was new to the Church for She was satisfied with hur

                         baptism and brother Leecoth of Cedar Sring suggested that from the advise

                         of the Green River Association in 1836 that we would be saif to reseave

                         members in this wawy don and assind by the order of the church.

 

2nd Sat Sept 1842:       “Brother Moon requested a copy of the record of the days business on

                         which they received a woman of culler whitch belong to Henry Emmerson

                         and it was granted.”

 

2nd Sat Oct 1842         “Fanny, a woman of colour belonging to Thomas Ray joined by letter.”
