Note: The name Bowlen may be
inaccurate due to the difficulty to read. It could possibly be Barton.
This indentured witnesseth that I Jack
Bowlen a free man of colour do hereby set free emancipate and forever discharge
from servitude a woman negro slave named Delsey and all her children which negro
woman I purchased of Robert B. Miller by bill of sale from him.

September 1824.

of emancipation made this 2nd day of October 1824. Witness
that I, Thomas Phillips of the town of Bourbon and state of
Kentucky do hereby emancipate, liberate and set free and
forever discharge from the servitude of myself my witnessed
executors and administrators and assign a certain
negro man slave by the name of
William Hayden a Barber about thirty five years of age five
feet ten or eleven inches high and dark complexion witness
my hand and seal the ___ and

further service. In short my mission by this deed of
manumission is to liberate and set said negro
man as free as by the laws of Kentucky my negro
can be made and I do wish this deed and order given under my hand and seal
this 6th day of July 1825.

Whereas Samuel
McClelland now
decd was possession of a
Negro slave named Daphney which was divised
to his wife and after
her death the said slave possee (probably
should read slave's possession) to his daughter Elizabeth who was
first married to John
Dunlap, next to John Kimbro
and finally to John Moore and the said John Moore and Elizabeth surveyed
the said slave with others
to the undersigned subject to such
uses as she the said Elizabeth by
last will and testament or writing in the ___ should appoint another by
said writing in the nature of a Will has ____ her slaves in certain events
to be emancipated. Now the ___ due signed in presance
of said deed and will do hereby emancipate and forever set free from slavery
the said Daphney from all claims of us and all
claiming under us or under the said Elizabeth.
In testimony whereof we have here unto set
our hand and seal this sixth day of February one thousand eight hundred and
twenty six.

Bourbon County Court February Term 1826
A deed of emancipation of us for deed by Thomas A.
Smith, William Mitchell and Benjamin Mills trustees for John and
Elizabeth Moore possess single emancipate a negro woman slave named
Daphney and was acknowledged in court by them and order to be
serviced and the court proceeded to take down the description of
said negro as follows term. About fifty five years old, five feet
six inches and one quarter high of a bright colour for a negro is
with high cheeks and broad face across the nose and eyes but ____
a narrow or sharp chinn which description of said negro is
___ and ordered to accompany said deed of emancipation according to
the act of assembly in such case is provided.

do by these present forever liberate and discharge from
all involuntary servitude and
emancipate forever a negro
man named Joseph Tubb about
sixty seven years of age and his wife Rebecca about the
same age in consideration of their long and faithful
services. Given under me this 6th day of December 1830.

five feet five and a half inches black about sixty five
years old slim, scar on the forehead. Rebecca is five
feet on half inch, about the same age.

Know
all men by these present that I Carter Lightfoot a free man of color of
the County of Bourbon town of Paris and state of Kentucky
having by purchase from John Kenney? of Franklin County obtained
the title to my wife Jane Lightfoot a yellow woman and being ____ any
that the should remain in slavery do by these emancipate and set free
entirely free servitude to me or any persons as fully and by all intents
and purposes as though she had been born free she is five feet three and
a half inches high aged thirty six years a scar on her right nostril
spare made out of good size. Witness my hand and seal this 4th day of
April
1831.

and Susan reserving the right to have said children bound to me until they
arrive at the age of twenty one and I do hereby release the said Elizabeth all

also release the said named children all my right interest and title in and to
