"Aug 21, 1815. I, Christopher Howard, of Barren County and State
of
Kentucky viewing negro slavery a moral as well as a political evil,
I do
hereby by these presents obligate myself to liberate a negro boy
named
Henry (who was 10 years old last March) at the age of 31 years and
to
have the same privilege as though he was born free provided he
should behave himself well until the expiration of said term and to
said due I bind
myself my heirs, executors and administrators to release said Henry
from
mine or their service at the end of the said term."
