I Moses Foley of Knox County and State of Kentucky, being weak of body but of perfect mind and memory, thanks to Almighty God for the same and calling to mind the mortality of my body and that it is appointed for all men give to die, do make I ordain this my last will and Testament in manner and form following, next, first and principally I recommend my soul to God who gave it and my body to the ground to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executors here after to be named. In the first place, I wish all my past debts to be paid. In the next place I wish my Executors of either of them to make a deed to John Wells to a certain piece of land agreeably to a bond which I gave to Benjamin Catching and a signed by said Catching to said John Wells. In the next place, I will to my wife Rachel during her widowhood the balance of my land where I now live together with one Negro named Millie and all my household and kitchen furniture, my stock of every kind and plantation tools for the benefit of herself and my two sons, Martin and Hugh and should my wife Rachel marry of depart thy life before my son Hugh arrives at the age of twenty one. Years, it is my wish and will that my land be rented out till such time as he shall arrive at the age of twenty one years for the benefit of my two sons above named and after the death or marriage of my wife Rachel and my son Hugh shall be twenty one years of age. It is my will that my land be sold and that my sons Hugh and Martin receive from the sale of my land two hundred dollars each for their own benefit and at the death or remarriage of my wife Rachel, I give and bequeath unto my two sons Martin and Hugh the aforementioned Negro with all my household and kitchen furniture, all my stock of every kind, all my plantation tools and all the debts that may be due me at my death by note or otherwise and it is further my will and wish that whatever my land may sell for over and above the four hundred dollars aforementioned to be paid to my ten children(now living and the heirs of my two deceased children) by my former wife to be equally divided that is to say each of my children to have one twelfth part and the heirs of each of my deceased children one twelfth part and of this my last will and testament I do appoint my friend Randolph Adams and my son Thomas Foley my joint executors, hereby revoking all wills and testaments by me heretofore make and confirming and acknowledging this and none other to be my last will and testament. In where of I have hereunto let my hand and seal this twenty fifth day of October and in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty three,
