Wounded: September 19, 1863 by gunshot wound above ankle of left leg at Chickamauga ,
GA.
Marriage Records: Married first to Nancy Ann Foley on February 23, 1868 (This not found
in his file but reference made to it by an affidavit given by Nancy brother) Nancy
died September 22, 1881.
2) Certificate showing Esom Campbell married Jane Moore at Jess Moores home on
July 7, 1883. Marriage performed by G.B. (Greenberry) Foley, Witnesses: F.T. Hodges and L.
Brock.
Application by soldier for pension: May 30, 1870

Affidavits for Widow Pension: 18 Nov. 1897 James Helton, age 35, neighbor of the widow
made a statement as to the value of her property and the illness of the soldier prior to
his death.
12 March 1898 Mary Moore, age 62, mother of the widow, attested to correct birth dates
for the soldiers children. She was present when William J., Many (Mary) N. and Rufus
were born and soon after the other two were born.
