Kenneth G. Alsip, 86, formerly of Corbin and Covington, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2002 at Florence. He was born January 25, 1916 in Corbin to the late George and Tavia Bunch Alsip. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was retired from the L&N Railroad. He belonged to the Steele's Chapel Christian Church near Corbin. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Marley Alsip; a sister, Sara Monhollen Saylor; and a granddaughter, Jana Alsip. Survivors include his wife, Hazel Bingham Alsip; five children, Keith Alsip and wife, Karen of Independence, Darrell Alsip and wife, Micki of Georgia, Don Taylor and wife, Judy of Indiana, Anita Stephan and husband, George of Fort Mitchell, and Darlene Rice Carr of Williamsburg; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a brother, Earnest Alsip of Corbin; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 13 at the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ward Wilson officiating. Interment was in the Worley Cemetery. O'Neil Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. |
