General BINGHAM General Bingham, 70, of the Smokey Community, Barbourville, was born on Feb. 17, 1936 at Walker, Ky. and passed away at his home Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006. He was a son of the late James Bingham and Ruby Carnes Bingham. He was a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church and an auto mechanic and former employee of the Eastern Oil Company. On Aug. 28, 1971, he united in marriage to Bonnie Perkins. Along with his parents, Mr. Bingham was preceded in death by a sister, Bernice Merida. Mr. Bingham is survived by his dear wife, Bonnie Perkins Bingham, of the Smokey community, Barbourville; his sisters, Judy Brock and husband Marlin of Corbin, Lorene Bingham of Barbourville; his sister-in-law, Billie Perkins McCarthy and husband Bob of the Smokey Community, Barbourville; and many beloved nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors. Funeral services for General Bingham were conducted at the Pleasant View Baptist Church Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006 with the Revs. Charlie Holland and Marvis Pridemore officiating. Interment followed in the Warfield Cemetery on Walker Park Road, Barbourville, with nephews, Harold Reed, Curtis Reed, Robert McCarthy Jr., Gary Mills, Scott Gambrel and Jason Gambrel serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were all dear members of the Pleasant View Baptist Church, Bob McCarthy, Curt Brown, Dan Gambrel, Doyle Hamilton, Eulas Hamilton, Rick Messer, Jonathan Lawson and Ancil Manis. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the Hospice staff that cared for Mr. Bingham. The Bingham family have requested contributions may be made to the Pleasant View Baptist Church in loving memory of General Bingham. Arrangements were under the direction of Hopper Funeral Home. |
