Hester VALENTINE

Mrs. Hester Farmer Valentine, 88, of Barbourville, the widow of Robert Glenn Valentine, passed away Thursday afternoon, May 10, 2007 in the Knox County Hospital. She was a daughter of the late John and Lela Prichard Farmer born on April 29, 1919 in Knox County. Mrs. Valentine was a retired sales clerk from Knox County Supply and a member of the Barbourville Church of God. In earlier years, she enjoyed sewing and quilting. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Foister Sr., Vernon, Alonzo, Lucian and Edward Farmer; a sister, Ilena Smith; and a grandson, Dalen Thomas Sizemore. Survivors include her daughters, Phyllis Burt of Gray and Janet Sizemore of Barbourville; a stepson, Harold Glenn Valentine and wife, Sue, of Raymore, MO; five sisters, Wilma Garrison and Billie Franklin both of Barbourville, Avinell Miller of Indiana, Marie Ebe of Springfield, IL and Jean Hays of Barbourville; a brother, J. B. Farmer of Barbourville; three grandchildren, Christopher and Michael Burt and Jennifer Sizemore; four great grandchildren, Amelia, Melody, Riley and C. J. Burt; a special nephew, Vernon Farmer; a special sister-in-law, Geneva Farmer; among other loved ones and dear friends who mourn her passing. Her funeral service was conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Sunday, May 13 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Denvil Taylor officiating. Mrs. Valentine was laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery. Casket bearers were Michael Burt, Christopher Burt, Vernon Farmer, Kenneth Smith, Mike Moore and Glenn Farmer. www.knoxfuneralhome.com
