DESSIE SMITH, 89, Faber, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2002 at Christian Health Center. She was a member of Faber Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters and two step-daughters, Mabel Miles of Lexington, Patsy Burnett and husband, Joe of Williamsburg, June Underwood of Williamsburg and Geneva Culvyhouse of Palm Bay, Florida; one son and two step-sons, Charles Smith and wife, Helen of Corbin, Calvin Smith and wife, Jackie of Brookville, Ohio and Melvin Smith and wife, Nowano of Corbin; 10 grandchildren, 17 step-grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, B.C. Smith. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 6 at the Jones & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Vaughn Hatcher, Jim Murray, and Larry Smith officiating. Burial was in the Smith Cemetery at Faber. Pallbearers were Chadd Cole, Dennis Large, Gary Large, Clifton Miles, John Miles, Allen Moore, Charles Smith, Jr. and David Smith. Jones & Son Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. |
