Letha Smith Mills (March 19, 1926 - February 8, 2008)

Letha Smith Mills, age 81 of Gray, Kentucky passed away on Friday February 8, 2008 in the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin. She was the daughter of the late John and Callie Grubb Smith. Letha was born on March 19, 1926 in Clay County, Kentucky. She was a Homemaker and a member of the Keck Baptist Church. On October 11, 1947, she united in marriage with Sie Mills. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Sie, A daughter, Bonnie King. One Son, Ernie Mills, A granddaughter, Michelle Johnson. Her sisters, Ruby Smith, Helen Hubbard, Lomer Smith, and Mae Fisher. Three Brothers, Jesse Smith, Stan Smith, and Dewey Smith. Letha is survived by her son, Dexter Mills of Gray, Kentucky. Three daughters, Connie Johnson Bowman of Gray. Alta Mae Mills of Corbin, and Shannon Vanover and husband Travis of London. Eight Grandchildren, Five Great Grandchildren, and One Great Great Grandchild. Two brothers, William �Dub� Smith and wife Laura Mae of London, and Fred Smith and wife Carol of Detroit, Michigan. Two Sisters, Oda Doolin of Detroit, Michigan, and June Whitlock of Lafayette, Indiana. She also leaves behind many other dear family and friends. Funeral services for Letha Smith Mills will be conducted in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday February 12, 2008 at 2:00pm with Rev. David Broughton officiating. Burial will follow in the Williams Cemetery in Corbin, Kentucky with Family and Friends serving as pallbearers. The Mills family will receive friends at Hopper Funeral Home on Monday from 6:00pm until 9:00pm, and on Tuesday after 10:00am until the funeral hour at 2:00pm. Arrangements are under the direction of Hopper Funeral Home.
