J.C. Mills Mr. J. C. Mills age 80, of Flat Lick, KY was born on July 11, 1927, in Knox County, KY and departed this life on Saturday-January 19, 2008 at his residence. Mr. Mills believed in the Baptist faith he also loved to squirrel and coon hunt and was a retired truck driver. Mr. Mills is preceded in death by his parents Nasby and Minnie Smith Mills along with one brother Dewey Mills and two sisters Juanita Carnes and Martha Carnes. Survivors include His wife Edith Baker Mills, two sons Robert Mills and wife Debra of Bimble, Ky. and Michael Mills of Hamilton, Ohio, seven daughters Ima Jean Grubb of London, Ky., Barbara Mills of Corbin, Ky., Beulah Ann Whitaker and husband Ron of London, Ky., Mary Woolum and husband Terry of Barbourville, Ky., Sherry Tarter of Cincinnati, Oh., Connie Mills and husband Wayne of Flat Lick, Ky. and Charlene Mills and fianc� Joey Bailey of Zebulon, N.C. He is also survived by eight brothers O. V. Mills and wife Shelby of Cookville, TN, Norman Lee Mills of Corbin Ky., Orvil Lee Mills and wife Gertie Mae Mills of Corbin, Ky., General Lee Mills and wife Jeanetta of New Carlisle, OH., Raymond Mills and wife Donna of Fairborn, OH., Sie Mills and Rudolph Mills both of Corbin, Ky. Randall and Joanie Bell Mills of Williamsburg, Ky., four sisters Victoria Evans of Delonaga, GA., Elizabeth Stewart and husband Alonzo of Mills, Ky., Irene Campbell and husband Kermit of Corbin, Ky., Darlene McNeil and husband Bob of Corbin Ky. Fourteen Grandchildren Rodney McDowell, Jason Terry Woolum, Eric Grubb, Justin Tarter, Jeremy Woolum, Christopher Mills, Aaron Swafford, Robert Michael Mills, Robyn Thompson, Dena Grubb, Kaysey Mills, Danetta McDowell, Ashley Ward and Danielle Mills. Nine Great Grandchildren Dawson McDowell, Christopher Mills, Allie Mills, Jacob Ward, Sarah McDowell, Aimee Katelyn Woolum, Bryce Thompson and Ethan Thompson. Mr. Mills also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. Funeral services for Mr. Mills will be conducted on Tuesday January 22, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenny Smith and Rev. Bobby Abner officiating. Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. Metcalf, Knox County Hospital Staff and Tri County Hospice Staff. Burial will be in the Baker Cemetery at Flat Lick, Ky. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements |
