CHESTER A. MILLS, 81, of Corbin, passed away Thursday afternoon, June 7, 2001 in the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin. He was a son of the late Robert L. and Effie Mills, born on June 9, 1919 in Knox County. Mr. Mills was a retired carpenter and a member of the Ravinna Church of the Nazarene. He served this country in the United States Army during World War II. In addition to his parents, be was preceded in death by one brother, John A. Mills. Survivors include his children, Lynn J. Mills and wife, Deborah, of Corbin, Ronnie Mills of Heidrick, Chester Mills Jr. and wife, Aaron, of New Albany,, IN, Ricky Mills and wife, Sheila, of Boone Height and Patsy Baker of Somerset; three sisters, Virginia Miller of Lexington, Eula V. Downey and husband, Jim, of Covington, and Della Wise and husband, Bob, of Park Hills; four brothers, Virgil Mills of Covington, Bob Mills Jr. and wife, Wanda, of Glencoe, Ben Mills and wife, Ivy, of Horton, AL and T. J. Mills of Montourville, PA; 11 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; among other loved ones and dear friends who mourn his passing. Funeral services were conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Sunday, June 10 at 2:30 P.M. with the Rev. W. B. Bingham, the Rev. Bobby Mills and the Rev. A. Y. Mills officiating. Mr. Mills was laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home. |
