MAUDE L MCCREARY, 88, of Barbourville, passed away Tuesday morning, June 5, 2001 in the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin. She was a daughter of the late Greene and Mary Lawson Cobb, born on June 5, 1913 at Bryants Store. Mrs. McCreary was a former homemaker, a retired cook from Knox Central High School and a member of the East Barbourville Baptist Church. She united in marriage with Anderson McCreary and to this union two children were born. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Anderson, on December 26, 1975; and two brothers, Dan and Arthur Cobb. Survivors include one son, Jack McCreary and wife, Wilma, of Barbourville; one daughter, Geneva Rutherford of Hamilton, OH; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; among other loved ones and dear friends who mourn her passing. Funeral services were conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Thursday, June 7 at 1 P.M. with the Rev. James Vandy officiating. Mrs. McCreary was laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
