JAMES WARD MAYNE, 74, of Barbourville, died Saturday, July 8, 2000 in the Franciscan Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. He was the son of the late William Floyd Mayne and Lewverna Matlock Mayne, born to them on August 15, 1925 in Barbourville, Kentucky. Mr. Mayne worked in Detroit, Michigan for the Teamsters Trucking, after his retirement in 1982 he moved back to Barbourville, a member of the Teamsters Union of Detroit, Michigan and a WWII U.S. Army Veteran. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by a brother, Wadie Mayne. Surviving Mr. Mayne is his son, Jimmy Carl Mayne and wife Connie of Springsboro, Ohio; his two grandchildren, Ginger Justus and husband Rob Justus and Kelly O'Donnell and husband Joseph O'Donnell; his two great-grandchildren, Magnolia Frances O'Donnell and Liberty Maeve O'Donnell; his brother, Willard Ray Mayne of Bristol, Tennessee; and many other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. Funeral services for James Ward Mayne were conducted in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, July 12, 2000 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Arnold Petrey officiating. Burial will be followed in the Croley-Mays Cemetery on Goldens Creek in Knox County. Those serving as pallbearers were: Family and friends of Mr. Mayne. Those serving as honorary pallbearers were: friends from the Hamburger Hut in Barbourville. The Mayne Family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to the Croley-Mays Cemetery in Care of James A. Croley, HC 73 Box 836, Barbourville, Kentucky 40906 in loving memory of James Ward Mayne. Hopper Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. |
