Ethel JORDAN Ethel Jordan, 101, of Corbin, Ky., was born Nov. 24, 1903 at Bright Shade, Ky. She was a daughter of the late Sherman Mills and Florence Delph Mills. Mrs. Jordan died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005 in the Christian Health Care Center in Corbin, Ky. Mrs. Jordan was a former Clay County school teacher. On Dec. 18, 1926, she united in marriage to Sol Jordan in Barbourville, Ky. Her husband, Sol; two sons, Ernest and Estill Jordan; a beloved son-in-law, Thurston King; six brothers and sisters, Lola Roller, Beatrice Jones, Daisy Saylor, Otis Mills, Clarence Mills and Russell Mills, preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Jeanna King of Corbin, Ky.; 10 grandchildren, Dr. Adrian King of Xenia, Ohio, Carl Jordan of Dallas, Texas, Jon Jordan of Cincinnati, Ohio, Susan Liebock of Ocala, Fla., Diane Curcio of Tampa, Fla., William Jordan of Manhattan Beach, Calif, David Jordan of Vacaville, Calif., Albert and Michael Jordan of Alexandria, Ky. and Lois Jordan of California, Ky.; a sister, Bernice Hensley of Milford, Ohio; three brothers, Clyde Mills and wife Jane of Haines City, Fla., Otto Mills and wife Helen of Cincinnati, Ohio and Marcum Mills of Keavy, Ky.; sister-in-law, Christa Halm Jordan of Alexandria, Ky.; 18 great grandchildren; and one great, great grandchild. Funeral services for Ethel Jordan were conducted in Hopper Funeral Home Chapel, Barbourville, Ky., Friday, Oct. 28 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. James Vandy officiating. Interment was in Pine Hill Cemetery in Corbin, Ky. Pallbearers were grandsons and friends. Hopper Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. |
