Mayme JOHNSON Mayme Johnson, 91, of Barbourville, was born on October 30, 1915 in Knox County, Kentucky. She was a daughter of the late Henry Jackson and Hallie Parrott Jackson. Mrs. Johnson died Thursday, August 23, 2007 in the Knox County Hospital. She was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter 580. On March 17, 1934, she united in marriage to Felix Johnson. Her Husband, Felix; a Grandson, James Allen Jr.; Great Grandson Kevin Brown, A Sister; Ruby Mills Three Brothers; Sillus, Claude and Dave Jackson and a Son-In-Law; R.P. Bargo all preceded her in death. She is survived by her Children; Charles (Douglas) Doug Johnson and wife, Diane; Felix Ray Johnson and wife, Debbie all of Bailey Switch, Kentucky; Janet Faye Shelton and husband, Oscar of New Carlisle, Ohio; Shirley Sue Bargo of Gray, Kentucky; Betty Jean Centers and husband, Jack of Bailey Switch, Kentucky; Ruby Ann Begley and husband, Paul of Gray, Kentucky; Georgia Mae Johnson, Mary Joyce Hammons and husband, Marvin and Phyllis Ruth Smith and husband, Otis all of Bailey Switch, Kentucky; Her Grandchildren; Colette, Kim, Kathy, Donna, Barbara, Tina, Joy, Mindy, Mary Ann, Jeff, Bobby, Jimmy, Tommy, Terry, Jackie, Marvin Jr., Otis Jr., Kevin and Douglas; and her twenty-nine Great Grandchildren. Funeral Services for Mayme Johnson were conducted Saturday, August 25, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Vernon Morris and Rev.David Barnard officiating. Burial followed in the Johnson Cemetery at Ray's Knob in Knox County. Pallbearers were Grandsons of Mrs. Johnson. Honorary Pallbearers were: Dr. Pedersen, Dr. West; all Knox County Home Health Staff, and all Knox County Hospital Staff. The Johnson Family received friends at the Hopper Funeral Home Friday from 6:30 until 9:00 p.m. and after 10:00 a.m. Saturday until the funeral hour at 3:00 p.m. Arrangements were under the direction of Hopper Funeral Home. |
