Mrs. Donna Belle Hurst, 85, of Barbourville, passed away Monday morning, July 9, 2007 in the Knox County Hospital. She was a daughter of the late Anthony and Elizabeth Jordan Bargo born on February 20, 1922 at Salt Gum. Mrs. Hurst was a former OEO employee and was a member of the Locust Grove Baptist Church at Girdler. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and crafts. She united in marriage with Ernest Williams and to this union five children were born and later she united in marriage with Patton Hurst and to this union two children were born. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Patton, on December 23, 2003; a daughter, Sheila Yount; two sisters, Sabra White and Edna Mae Senters; and three brothers, James, Farmer and George Bargo. Survivors include six children, June Wagers of Newton, NC, Sue Parrott of Heidrick, John Williams and wife, Wanda, of Indianapolis, IN, Ethel Baker and husband, Paul, of Heidrick, Kay Rucker of Lawrenceburg and Carol Peach of Barbourville; 2 brothers, Rev. Chester Bargo and wife, Viola, of Jarvis and Tony Bargo and wife, Mollie, of Heidrick; 18 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; among other loved ones and dear friends who mourn her passing. Her funeral service was conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Thursday, July 12 at 11 A.M. with Rev. Geral Wells and Rev. Rollin Bradshaw officiating. Mrs. Hurst was laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.Casket bearers were grandsons. Honorary bearers were Dr. Vora, Linda Beverly and Donna Doolin.Arrangements were under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home. |
