VIRGIL JACK HELTON, 92, of Orange City, Fla. was born September 10, 1910 to the late Hayes Helton and Ortie Parsons Helton at Crane Nest, Kentucky. Mr. Helton died Tuesday May 7, 2002 in the Florida Hospital at Deland, Florida. He was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church. Mr. Helton was a retired power engineer, a United States Marine during World War II and was a member of the American Legion and D.A.V. of Cincinnati, Ohio. He is survived by his wife Vivian Cocheran Helton of Orange City, Florida; his daughter Edith Ann Loveland and husband Eric of Orange City, Florida; his son, Charles W. Helton and wife Barbara of Clovis, California; his sisters, Elsie Cook of Loveland, Ohio; Ruby Wall of Cincinnati, Ohio and Mary Ruth Hammons of the Walker Park Road, Barbourville; his brothers, Berchin H. Helton of Jarvis; and Homer Helton of Mesa, Ariz.; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Funeral services for Virgil Jack Helton will be conducted in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel, Thursday, May 16, 2002 with the Rev. James Vandy officiating.Interment will be in the New Bethel Cemetery at New Bethel. Hopper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. |
