Mattie Eugina Harris, 100, of Williamsburg, went to be with the Lord Sunday, Sept. 7, 2003 at Baptist Regional Medical Center. The daughter of the late George W. and Gennie Lipscomb, she was born Feb. 24, 1903 in Cooter, Mo. She was of the Mormon faith in Caruthersville, Mo. and was the self-employed owner of Harris Boarding House. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Harris, Sr.; one son, Arthur Harris, Jr.; two daughters, Millie Branham and Chalma Parson; two brothers; nine sisters; and one grandchild. She is survived by three granddaughters, Shelia McKeehan and husband Baylord of Corbin, Bea Wayne Barton and husband Charles of Boulder, Colo. and Patti Braham of Glendale, Ariz.; two grandsons, Larry Moore of Corbin and Morris T. Herman of New Albany, Ind.; 14 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends who mourn her passing. The funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003 at the Corbin Funeral Home chapel with Bishop Eric Maguet officiating. Burial will be in the Sutton-Pemberton Cemetery at Whitley County. The family will receive friends from noon until 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Corbin Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The Corbin Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements, Byron L. Schiesz, director.
