| WILLIE "Bill" HAMMONS, 87, of Dewitt, Kentucky was born on June 1, 1914 to the late John Hammons and Amanda Mills Hammons at Dewitt. Mr. Hammons died at his residence, Wednesday, May 8, 2002. He was a deacon and a member of the Young Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Hammons was a retired carpenter and farmer. On May 13, 1935, he united in marriage with Ethel Hammons. Mr. Hammons is survived by his daughters; Daphne Goodin of Dewitt; Lois Townsley and husband, Linvell of Dewitt; and Barbara Ann Worley and husband Jack of Lebanon, Ohio; His son; John S. Hammons and wife, Judith of Heidrick; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; His brother; Clinton B. Hammons of Barbourville. Funeral Services for Willie "Bill" Hammons were conducted in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel, Friday, May 10, 2002 with the Rev Mike Collins and the Rev Jon Scott Hammons officiating. Interment was in the Hammons Family Cemetery at Dewitt. Hopper Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements. |
