MARTHA BAKER GRAY, 93, of Barbourville, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2000 in the Knox County Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Calvin and Miranda Nolan Baker born on April 11, 1907 at Mills. She was a homemaker and a member of the Salem Baptist Church. She united in marriage with Nelson Gray and to this union eight children were born. Survivors include six children, Henry Gray of Pleasant Plain, Ohio, Calvin Gray and wife Patricia of Gray, E.J. Gray and wife Florine of Bimble, Reola Hinkle of Cincinnati, Ohio, Lovella Smith of Flat Lick and Ann Bain of Barbourville; one niece; 26 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; among other loved ones and dear friends who mourn her passing. Funeral services were conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Thursday, July 6 at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Dennis Chesnut and the Rev. Bill Wolfe officiating. She was laid to rest in the Hammons Cemetery at Flat Lick. Knox Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. |
