Marilyn GOINS Mrs. Marilyn Patterson Goins, 43, of Tazewell, TN, formerly of Barbourville, passed away Wednesday afternoon, July 19, 2006 in the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville. She was a daughter of Maxine Mills Patterson and the late James L. Patterson born on June 10, 1963 in Knox County. Marilyn was a homemaker and a realtor. She was a member of the Covenant Life International Church in Lake City, TN and had sung in the church choir. She enjoyed riding horses. On April 30, 1986, she united in marriage with Steven H. Goins in Bell County. Survivors include her husband, Steven; her mother, Maxine Patterson of Boone Heights; four children, Stephanie Danielle Goins, Jennifer Allison Goins, Emily Lauren Goins and Kaitlyn Marie Goins all of Barbourville; two sisters, Carolyn Patterson and Becky Grubb both of Barbourville; an aunt and uncle, Joyce and Vernon Halcomb of Gibson Station, VA; two special cousins, Mark Halcomb and wife, Lisa, of Mount Airy, NC and Michael Halcomb and wife, Robin, of Big Stone Gap, VA; her father and mother-in-law, Noel and Janice Goins of Cumberland Gap, TN; a brother-in-law, Chris Goins of Gate City, VA; among other loved ones and dear friends who mourn her passing. Her funeral service was conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Saturday, July 22 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Tommy Frazier and Rev. Dan Shultz officiating. Marilyn was laid to rest in the Henry Mills Cemetery. Casket bearers were cousins. Arrangements were under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home. |
