Mr. Robie Gambrel, 82, of the Turkey Creek Community, Flat Lick, a son of the late Silas Gambrel and Vina Edwards Gambrel, passed away in Knox County Hospital Friday, Feb. 7, 2003. He was a member of the Scalf Chapel Church. He was self-employed. His wife, Parley Lee Click preceded him in death. Later he united in marriage with Gladys Marlow Baker. He is survived by his wife, Gladys Gambrel of Turkey Creek; his children, Robie Pete Gambrel and wife Joyce, Curtis Gambrel and wife Sandra, all of Flat Lick, Pam Carnes and husband Frank of Walker, Cleo Coffey and husband Jackie of Tunnel Hill, Ga., Cindy Lou Graham of Cartersville, Ga. and Hoyt Dwight Gambrel; two stepsons, Sterling Ray Baker and wife Carolyn of Girdler and Anthony Quinn Baker and wife Arizona of Flat Lick; 10 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; his brother, Lester Gambrel of Flat Lick. Services were conducted in Hopper Funeral Home Chapel Monday, Feb. 10, 2003 with the Rev. James Mooneyham and the Rev. Tommy Teague officiating. Burial was in Click Cemetery at Flat Lick. Hopper Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements. |
