Evelyn GAMBREL Evelyn Gambrel, 71, of Heidrick, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington. She was a daughter of the late Garrett Bargo and Allie Grubb Bargo. Her husband, Leamon Gambrel, preceded her in death. She is survived by eight daughters, Carolyn Sue Vaughn and husband Eric, Zelma Collings and husband Rev. Mike Collins, Kathy Jones and husband Donnie, Charlene Smith and husband Calvin, Linda Fothergill and husband Curtis, Claudia Vaughn and husband Paul, Erselene Broughton and husband Eddie, Lorie Gibson; two sons, Roy Gambrel and wife Francine and Steven Gambrel and wife Annette; three half-sisters, Onylee Mills and husband O.V., Axie Bargo, Joyce Maxey and husband Roland; four half-brothers, Haston Bargo and wife Dena, Joe Bargo and wife Cheryl, Boad Bargo and wife Billy Joyce and Arvil Lee and wife Emily; 44 grandchildren; and 30 great grandchildren. Services were conducted in Hampton Funeral Home Chapel Sunday with the Revs. Mike Collins and Tony Jackson officiating. Burial was in Patterson Cemetery at Heidrick. Hampton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. |
Evelyn GAMBREL Mrs. Evelyn Gambrel, 71, of Swan Lake, Barbourville, Ky., departed this life on Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington. She was a daughter of Garrett Bargo and Allie Grubb Bargo, born to them on Jan. 29, 1935, in Knox County, Ky. Mrs Gambrel was a devoted houswife and mother. She was a member of the Highland Park Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Garrett Bargo and Allie Grubb Bargo, her husband, Leamon Gambrel; one son, Leatus �Gee Bug� Gambrel, one brother, J.D. Bargo and two grandchildren, Amanda Vaughn and David Broughton. Survivors include: Zelma and husband, Rev. Mike Collins of Heidrick, Ky., Roy Gambrel and wife Francine of Middlesboro, Ky., Sue Vaughn and husband Eric of Swan Pond, Ky., the late Leatus Gambrel �Gee Bug� and wife Martha of Cannon, Ky., Kathy Jones and husband Donnie of Barbourville, Ky., Charlene Smith and husband Calvin of Barbourville, Ky., Linda Fothergill and husband Curtis of Heidrick, Ky., Claudia Vaughn and husband Paul of Heidrick, Ky., Earslene Broughton and husband Eddie of Cannon, Ky., Lori Gibson and friend Tim Price of Lat Lick, Ky., Steven Gambrel and wife Annette of Cannon, Ky., a special and devoted friend, Jay Sanders of Swan Lake, Ky. His children: Betty and Russell Davenport of Corbin, Ky., Daniel Sanders of Barbourville, Ky.; Three half-sisters: Onylee Mills and husband O.V., Axie Bargo, Joyce Maxie and husband Roland, a very dear friend, Willard Bargo, all of Barbourville, Ky.; four half-brothers: Haston Bargo and wife Dena, of Delaware, Ohio, Joe Bargo and wife Cheryl of Bellview, Ky., Boad Bargo and wife Billie Joyce of Barbourville, Ky., Arvil Lee Bargo and wife Emily of Corbin, Ky. In addition to a host of relatives and friends to mourn her passing. Funeral services for Mrs. Gambrel were conducted in Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, April 30, 2006 at 2 p.m. with the Revs. Mike Collins and Tony Jackson officiating.
