Billy Ray ELLIOTT Mr. Billy Ray Elliott, 71, of Callebs Creek, passed away Saturday morning, April 28, 2007 at his home. He was a son of the late Perry and Mattie Elizabeth Bryant Elliott born on July 2, 1935 in Pineville. Mr. Elliott was a former painter with the Porter Paint Co. in Louisville. He was a member of the Dripping Springs Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing the guitar and writing songs. On June 16, 1962, he united in marriage with Geraldine Creighton in Barker, NY and to this union three children were born. Later on November 17, 1991, he united in marriage with Ethel Smith at Hinkle. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Elliott; two sisters, Pearl Matlock and Eula Mae Jordan; a grandson, Dustin Scott; and a great granddaughter, Emaleigha Elliott. Survivors include his wife, Ethel Elliott of Callebs Creek; three children, Darlene Carnes and husband, Ricky, of Barbourville, Barbara Rains and husband, Jason, of Hammons Fork and Elizabeth Bunch and husband Danny of Barbourville; three stepchildren, Tim Smith and wife, Trudy, of Callebs Creek, Lisa Mattox and husband Dan, and Karen Smith all of Lexington; two sisters, Ruby Scalf and Beatrice Miller, both of Barbourville; a brother, Albert Elliott and wife, Charlotte, of Somerset; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends who mourn his passing. Services were private. Arrangements were under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home. |
