RONNIE DALE CALLIHAN Ronnie Dale Callihan of Knoxville, Tennessee and formerly of Flat Lick, Kentucky was born on February 22, 1949 in Barbourville. He was a son of Chelsa Yeager Callihan and the late Henry Matt Callihan Sr. Mr. Callihan passed away Sunday, February 22, 2009 at the Park West Hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee on his 60th birthday. He was a member of Scalf Chapel Church at Bimble. Ronnie was a graduate of Union College in Barbourville. He served on the Board of Directors of the Union National Bank for a number of years and was President of Blue Gem Coal and Land Corporation. He was past Commodore of the Fort Loudon Yacht Club in Knoxville. He also formally served on the Board of Trustees at Union College. Ronnie is survived by his daughter, Amy Callihan Reid; his son, Sean Dale Callihan, granddaughter, Molly Frances Callihan; his dear mother, Chelsa B. Callihan; his sisters; Genetta Dittrich and husband, Dr. Norman Dittrich; Wilma Adams and husband, Kenneth; his brother; H.M. Callihan Jr. and wife, Carolyn Elizabeth; nephews, H.M. Callihan III, Kenneth E. Adams, Jr., Mark K. Adams, Gus Patrick Callihan and Josh Lawson Callihan. There will be graveside services for Ronnie Dale Callihan at the Callihan Family Cemetery at Bimble, Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dennis Chesnut officiating. Pallbearers will be: H.M. Callihan III, Kenneth E. Adams, Jr., Mark K. Adams, Gus Patrick Callihan, Josh Lawson Callihan and Jerry Garland. Honorary Pallbearers will be: John Anderson, William Fortney, Jerry Carey, Lewis Hopper, Steve Evans, and Michael Mills. Friends will be received at the Hopper Funeral Home Monday, March 2nd, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friends will be received at the Callihan Family Cemetery, Tuesday, March 3rd at 11:00 a.m. for Graveside Services. The Callihan Family have suggested contributions may be made to the Muscular Sclerosis Society or to Union College in loving memory of Ronnie Dale Callihan. Hopper Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements. |
