Land Grant between Peter Jarvis, Grantor and Daniel Stewart, Grantee, recorded in Deed Book E, Page 291 on the 6th day of December 1847 by James F. Ballinger This indenture made and entered into this 6th day of December 1847 between Peter Jarvis of the one part and Daniel Stewart of the other part all of the county of Knox and State of Kentucky witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of Two hundred dollars by the said Daniel Stewart to the said Peter Jarvis in hand paid, the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge he hath granted bargained and sold and by their presence doth lease? and convey unto the said Daniel Stewart his heirs & assigns forever one certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the county aforesaid on Bull Creek supposed to contain fifty acres be the same more or less found bound as followeth Jarvis? Beginning on three Spruce pines in Jarvis upfields? line thence running up Bull Creek on the south side x two hundred yards thence taking each side of the branch to make up the quantity of fifty acres � being a part of Sohn? line Survey of 36,000 acres to have and to hold the above described tract or parcel of land unto the said Daniel Stewart his heirs and assigns forever free from the claims of the said Jarvis and his heirs and from the claims of all other persons whatsoever � Will warrant and defend the same � In witness where of � he hereunto sets his hand and affixes his seal this day and year written |
Knox County I James F. Ballinger Clerk of the County Court of the County aforesaid do certify that this deed from Peter Jarvis to Daniel Stewart was on the 6th day of December 1847 acknowledged before me by the said Peter Jarvis to be his act & deed whereupon the said deed hath been admitted to record in my office |
