The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania To all to whom these presents may come greeting. Know yea that among the records of the office of the register of wills of said county it contains Will of Annie L. Kennard wife of M. S. Kennard of the Borough of Mauch Chunk, County of Carbon, and State of Pennsylvania, being of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, do make and publish this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills be me at any time heretofore made. And as to my worldly estate, and all the property, real personal or mixed of which I shall ??? or possessed and to which I shall be entitled at the time of my decease, I devise, bequeath and dispose thereof in the manner following, to wit: I give, devise, and bequeath to my daughter Gertrude L. Kennard and to her heirs and assigns, the mansion house now occupied by me, and the lot or lots of ground situated on the west side of the Public road heading from Mauch Chunk to Nesquehoning in the Borough of Mauch Chunk of ??? together with the stables, carriage house, and all other dwellings thereon erected, and also all the furniture, carpets, pictures, silver ware, cooking and bric-a-bracs in said mansion house except the articles hereinafter specifically bequeathed, and provided ??? that my beloved husband M.S. Kennard??? shall have the right to use and occupy said mansion house as his house together with my daughter so long as he lives, unless he should remarry, and if he should remarry he shall no longer occupy the same, and provided also that all my children shall have a home in said mansion house with my said daughter until they attain the age of twenty four unless they should remarry before that time or desire to leave home. Item, to my son John L. Kennard I bequeath a large on an onyx pedestal. Item, to my son M L. Kennard a bust of a woman on an onyx pedestal. To my daughter, Gertrude L. Kennard I bequeath alland jewelry except a bracelet of diamonds, rubies, and sapphires which I bequeath to my sister Mrs. Mary D. Wentz, wife of J. S. Wentz. Item: It is my desire and request that my sister Mrs. look after the welfare of my said daughter, Gertrude L. Kennard, without the care of her father and see that she a proper woman to attend to her. Item: All the rest and residue of my estate real, personal, and mixed whatsoever or ??? possessed, I devise and bequeath unto my husband M.S. Kennard and to my children, John Kennard???, M??? Kennard, Gertrude L. Kennard??? share and share alike their heirs and assigns, but in case either of my children should die without assigns, the share or shares of such child or children shall be divided up equally among the surviving children their heirs and assigns. And lastly, I do nominate, constitute and appoint as executor of this my last will and testament, my husband, M.S. Kennard, my ?brother? E. B. ?Lisemony? and my sister, Mrs. Mary D. Wentz whom I shall appoint as ??? and Guardian of the pensions and estates of my said children. ??? give them full power and authority as such ??? and Testamentary Guardian to sell and dispose of ??? and of my investments into cash and reinvest the same from time to time as they may deem to be the best interest of my estate, but no division or distribution of my estate made to said children until they shall respectively attain the age of twenty four years, and my said children shall have no control over the respective interests until they shall have attained the age of twenty four years; provided however, that the heretofore named Testamentary Guardian shall have power to disburse so much of my estate in ??? as they may deem necessary for the support, maintenance and education of my said children whenever they may deem it necessary. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this sixth day of July A.D. one thousand eight hundred and eighty seven. Annie L. Kennard???, as and for her last will and testament in the presence of us who have hereunto subscribed our names at her request as witnesses thereto in the presence of the said testatrix and of each other. Kennard being the person applying for letters on the estate of Annie L. Kennard late of Mauch Chunk in said county deceased who being duly sworn according to law, did depose and say that the said Annie L. Kennard??? died and as near as he can ascertain at -- o'clock in the --- on the 30th day of May one thousand eight hundred and eighty eight. Fryman and James ?Kestler? the subscribing witnesses to the forgoing last will and testament of Annie L. Kennard??? deceased on their solemn oaths, did say that they were present and did see and hear Annie L. Kennard??? of Mauch Chunk, Pa., deceased, the testator therein named, sign, seal, publish, and declare the same as and for her last will and testament and that at the doing thereof she was of sound, disposing mind, memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge and belief. Register of Wills of Carbon County Being appointed one of the Executors of the will of Annie L. Kennard???, I hereby renounce my oath and refuse to ??? upon my ??? of the execution of said will and desire that ??? be granted to the other Executors named in said will. Mary D. Kennard??? and E. B. Lu??? that as the Executors of the forgoing last will and testament of Annie L. Kennard??? late of Mauch Chunk, Pa., deceased, we will and truly administer the goods and chattels rights and credits of the said deceased according to law, and diligently and faithfully regard and will and truly comply with the provisions of the law ??? to collateral inheritances. William Asner Register Commonwealth of Pennsylvania County of Carbon I William Asner Register for the probate of wills and granting letters of administration in and for said county do hereby certify that the forgoing is a true and ??? copy of the last will and testament of Annie L. Kennard??? deceased late of the Borough of Mauch Chunk, Pa., probated in my office June 18, 1888 together with the probate thereof as filed of record and recorded in the registers office for Carbon County so full and entire as the same remains on file and of record in my office. In witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal of said office, dated at Mauch Chunk, in the County of Carbon aforesaid this 14th day of October in the year of our lord one thousand nine hundred and nineteen. Kennard??? and said Certificate mentioned appears to have been duly proven and to be of force and that the said record certificate and attestation are in due form of law and made by the proper office.
