The following was submitted by Helen to the
Kenton Co. KyGenWeb site in Sept 2002.

-----

I have calculated that approx 21 people (that I am aware
of) are buried in the Simmons cemetery. Now I counted
around 14 stones, but may be 15 since my purpose wasn't
to take an account of all that had a headstones
when I gathered the following data. Some have full
dates and mostly have just the year. I am not sure if
I just put the year for some or not but I do have full
dates for most of these since I have researched this
family name and of whom all are related except Sipe
which I understand was the family that bought up the
land to the one side opposite the house.

Mary Ann Simmons: Jan 7, 1870 to Sept 10, 1892
   (oldest stone)

John G. Porter: 1885-1945

Laura (Simmons) Porter: 1884?5-1969
(I don't have her on my headstone list but I am betting
she has a stone and I just hadn't added her to that
list as according to documentation she IS buried in
   this cemetery)

William T. Simmons: 1873-1935

Nancy Ann Simmons: 1850-1920 (Has the largest stone)

J. J. Simmons: (her husband) 1843 to Feb 13, 1902
(I believe he is also buried here according to death cert)

James Albert AKA "Robert" Simmons: 1876-1955
   (Headstone reads, Robert)

Chester Floyd Simmons: Army-Korea---_____1928 to June 17, 1989

Lester L. Simmons: PVT-US Army:
   Dec 4, 1928 to August 30, 1997.
(These last two: Chester and Lester were twin brothers.
Their dates are in full on their headstones and the recent
visit is the first time I saw them there but had their dates
and so did not check against what I had. These are
government issued bronze type stones, side by side.) I
believe it is Lester's sons: Dan, Doug or David that may be
   upkeeping this cemetery.)

Edward L Simmons: (WWII vet): March 15, 1924 to Dec 20, 1988

Rosa M. Fischer: 1887-1970 (maiden name-Simmons)

Edward Fischer: 1876-1949

Leoda Carson: 1924-1950

Anna F. (Fischer) Thompson: 1905-1950 (mother to Leoda)

George Simmons Sr.: 1905-1961

The following have evidence indicating burial in this cemetery:

J. J Simmons (in the list above)

Lawrence Dan Simmons: July 5, 1884 to March 18, 1958
(In one note I have it indicates a birthyear of 1885
"headstone" so this may be one I had documented as having
a stone but over look it on another trip)

Joseph "Harry" AKA Harry "Joe" Simmons:
   (MOST RECENT): April 25, 1931 to Sept 1, 1999.

Barbara Ann Simmons: Oct 9, 1948 to Dec 31 1965
(Actually has a field stone with Barbara Ann on it.

Edward Simmons: Dec 25, 1872 to April 26, 1943

Edward Simmons: 1918 to Dec 21, 1952

There are several Edward Simmons in this clan so don't let the
duplication of the name puzzle you. I also see while looking
over my things that it was indeed called the Fischer-Simmons
cemetery at one time.
