School History
The first school house in Crescent Springs was built in 1891.
It was a one room affair but in a few years another room was added
and later two more making four in all. Finally in 1921 the district
was consolidated with three more districts and pupils were transported
to the school in a touring car. And later in two large trucks.
Miss Stella Lee did the first teaching of high school subjects
and taught for about five years and then Mr.Wade was the principal
and he carried on the high school work. In 1920 Miss Slayback,
who teaches in this school now, was the first high school graduate.
In 1923 the County Board of Education determined to erect a
school building to accommodate the fast growing school population
of Crescent Springs. When the new building was finished there
were employed six full time teachers, two kindergarten, six grade
and eight high school teachers.
The high school has grown from 12 to about 200 students. There
are also two music teachers in the school
