Sanford J. Blanton Will

     This the 27th day of November 1961.                                             Oil Springs, KY.

 

     I, Sanford J. Blanton, a son of John E. and Sarah Williams Blanton.  I am now on Low Gap Branch waters of Big paint Creek Post Office Oil Springs, KY. and in sound mind do hereby write my will.  I have three daughters Blanche Blanton Mc Kenzie, Erie Blanton Fairchild and Hazel Blanton Long.  I make my home with Erie Blanton Fairchild and I will my land to Erie Blanton Fairchild effective at my death for caring for me and I will the royalty equally with the three girls Blanch – Erie and hazel and right of way to get any or all of the products royalty  to market and if I have any money Blanche Blanton McKenzie and Hazel Blanton Long is to get $500.00 five hundred dollars each and they are to help Erie care for me as a Father should be cared for/ if she needs help.  I have a $1000.00 one thou- sand dollar insurance policy with the Federal Postal Employers Association and  the three (3) girls is named beneficiary in the policy and the three girls, Blanch Erie and Hazel is to erect or have erected a monument like or similar to the monument  I had erected at Hester’s grave.  After all expenses are paid all three girls Blanch, Erie & Hazel is to share equally with with what I have after all expenses are paid.  If I am refused a home and care as a Father should be cared for this will is nul and void.  The Frigidare and electric stove is to be left with Erie as I  make my home there and I think she deserves them. Rest equally divided among the (3) girls.  The land I have mentioned (?) the land on the left hand side of Low Gap Branch as you go up Low Gap was deeded to me John E. Blanton  and Sarah Williams Blanton containing 50 fifty acres more or less and the land on the right Hand side of Low Gap as you go up Low Gap is one half acre more or less deeded to Me by Ben Johnson & wife, the rest of the land that was deeded to me by Ben Johnson and wife was deeded to Eugene Fairchild and Erie Fairchild.

by me and my wife Hester Burchett Blanton.  I have wrote this will in good faith and in my own hand writing and trust that it will meet with the aproval of my three daughters and trust that no one will be offended.  This wrote and signed by me this 27th of November 1961.  This will to be efective at my death after Blanch & Hazel gets their $500.00 dollars each rest equally divided among the three girls.

P.S. to make this more clear Erie gets the land and Blanche & Hazel get $500.00 each  and the royalty is to go to the 3 girls equally Blanch-Erie & Hazel

     I, Charles O. Wheeler, Jr., Clerk of the County Court of the County afore- Said do certify that the foregoing Instrument of Writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Sanford J. Blanton was produced in open court and proven upon testimony of Erie Fairchild and R.C. Lyon to be the handwriting of Sanford J. Blanton and his last will and testament.  Whereupon the same was accepted as such, And ordered to be recorded which is this day done accordingly.
