Welch-Ward Wedding 2-2-1927

                The wedding of Mr. Shady Ward and Miss Evelyn Welch came as a surprise to many friends. They were married in Prestonsburg, Wednesday, Feb., 2. After the ceremony the two returned to the bride's home one mile below Paintsville, where a delicious dinner was served. The dining room was tastefully decorated with hyacinths and tulips making it very attractive.

                The bride is the charming daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Welch and her wedding frock of white crepe rendered her more beautiful. The bridegroom is the son of Mr and Mrs. W. J. Ward of Paintsville, and a promising young man.

                The young couple left Thursday morning for Lexington where they will spend a few days on their honeymoon.

Dewey Welch Married

                An event of unusual interest of Johnson County people was the marriage of Mr. Dewey Welch to Miss Mary Bradford. The ceremony was preformed at the Lakehurst Hotel in Lakehurst, Florida on June 2, where the young couple made their home.

                The ceremony was preformed by Rev. W. F. Dunkle, pastor of the First Methodist Church, and the impressive ring ceremony was used. The nuptials were witnesses by the 30 or more young men and women who lived at the hotel, a group of invited guests and William Bradford and Miss Lyndabell Bradford of Fort Myers, brother and sister respectively, of the bride, and Miss Russell of Philadelphia.

                Mrs. Welch was a teacher in the Lakehurst schools, going to Fla from Pelham Ga. She is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs B H Bradford and was graduated from the State College for Women in Tallahassee in 1924. Mrs. Welch is a highly cultivated and educated young woman with many friends and admired.

                Mr. Welch is a son of Mr. and Mrs. U S Welch who reside a few miles below Paintsville in this county, and is highly respected and intelligent young man of pleasing personality. He was graduated from the college of engineering, University of Kentucky in 1924. Since last July he has held a responsible position with the Polk Co., Fla., highway department. Mr Welch is a promising young man, who by his courteous demeanor and gentlemanly bearing has won may friend wherever he has sojourned,

                After a short honeymoon Mr. and Mrs. Welch announce they will b at home at 509 East Lime Street, Lakehurst, Fla.
