    S-Sgt. Vincent F. Pelphrey, 25,Formerly Of Johnson County Died On June 11,1945, Following An Automobile Accident While On Duty In Germany.

    Sgt. Pelphrey Enlisted In The Army In 1940, Remaining In The States As A Military Policeman Until October 1944 When He Was Transferred To The Infantry And Was Sent Overseas. He Participated In Several Battles Near Bergenstrom And Remained In That Area V-E Day.

    Sgt. Pelphrey was the son of the late Jesse Pelphrey and Erie Blair Graves of Portsmouth, Ohio. Besides his Mother, He is Survived by a sister, Geneva Pelphrey, of Mt. Arab, Ohio, one brother, Pfc. Denzil Pelphrey, in Germany, and two half-brothers, Jesse Pelphrey, Jr., S 1-C in the Pacific Area, and Otis Pelphrey Of Marion, Ohio. His Grandmother, Mrs. Ben Pelphrey, Barnetts Creek, with whom he spent his younger days also survives.

    He Leaves An Outstanding Service Record. He was Buried In a Cemetery Near Bergenstrom,Germany.
