OLD SOLDIER ANSWERS CALL
Another one of the old soldiers has answered the call. Thomas J Dixon, died June 15, 1926, at the home of his son, Ed Dixon, at Oil Springs, Ky.
He volunteered as a soldier on the 8th day of November, 1861, to serve three years, and was honorably discharged from service on the 31st day of January, 1865. In the year 1872 he was married to Eliza J. McFarland.
He leaves to mourn four sons, Manford Dixon of Ivel, Ky., Ed Dixon Oil Springs, W M Dixon Ashland. J F Dixon, Wayland, Ky., He was 84 years and 9 months old and had been a Christian most of his life.
He did not seem to dread the sting of death in the least, and talked of all his old friends who had passed away long ago. He was ready to go and his children had nothing to cause them to mourn except his absence. He was loved by everyone and had a kind word to say to all.
