Former Paintsville Man succumbs after Short Illness
Funeral Tuesday
The news of the death of Sanford Brown which occurred in Huntington Sunday morning at 8 o'clock was recieved with much regret and sorrow by relatives and friends in Paintsville. His death occurred after a brief illness of kidney trouble. He resided on Adams Ave and was removed to the local hospital only a few days before the end.
Sanford Brown was a native of Johnson County. When the Big Sandy Hardware Company was first organized in this city he was connected with the firm in a business later going to Foster-Thornsbury Hardware Company in Huntington where he moved his family about fifteen years ago and remained until his death.
Mr. Brown married Miss Emma Mahan of this city, and is survived by his widow and two daughters, May and Ruth. He is also survived by an Aunt, Mrs. Sarah F. Preston and a brother Proctor Brown who is engaged in the lumber business in Pueblo, Co., who is the only remaining member of the family.
Funeral services were conducted in Huntington Tuesday afternoon and the remains were laid to rest in Huntington Cemetery where his sister Mrs. Cora Brown Florey was buried a few years ago amid a bower of Flowers sent by loving relatives and friends as an expression of respect and honor to a good citizen
Many relatives from Paintsville including Mrs. Sarah F. Preston, Mrs. S A Webb, Mrs. Chas. A. Kirk, Dr and Mrs. G M Stafford and Mr. and Mrs. S P King, Miss Roma Price and others attend the funeral Tuesday.
