STERLING THOMAS CASTLE
Son of Sterling T. and Fannie Daniel Castle
Sterling Thomas Castle was a veteran of World War II, who was killed suddenly December 30, 1949 by a rock fall in a small mine in which he was working near his home.
He was born at Nippa December 17, 1921, the son of Sterling and Fannie Daniel Castle and resided there all of his life. He was survived by his wife, Emogean Music Castle, and a one-year-old child. His parents and several brothers and sisters survived him at the time of his death.
Sterling died at the young age of 27.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Scott Daniel January 2,1950 at the Sycamore Schoolhouse.
Burial was in the family cemetery under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home. This cemetery is also known as the "Clark Castle Cemetery"
His death was reported in the Paintsville Herald on January 6, 1950
