I have learned the names of the Collins for which I research for her.
I'm looking for information on Andrew J. COLLINS b. 1834 KY . He married
Francis Ann _______ b. 1840 Iowa , probably in Franklin Parrish ,
Louisiana . I found Andrew J. and Francis Ann COLLINS on the 1860
Franklin Parrish , LA. census . Their oldest son , William L. COLLINS
was born 1861 Franklin Parrish , LA. In 1864 Andrew J. COLLINS Jr. was
born in Texas . Following are :

he was robbed and murdered on the Brackettville Hywy.This is the area
in which Eldora now lives in Rocksprings , Edwards Co., Texas
.Brackettville , Kinney Co., TX. neighbors Edwards and Real counties .

1800 Burchetts of Va. Also Wells, Hobsons,Collins,You can see the Collins line

I have briefly looked at your sites and plan to study them more. Are you a
descendant of Thomas & Ruth (Lane) Spears through the Collins line? I did a
lot of Spears research a few years ago with Nick Schommer & Paulina "Polly"
Collins Garza after they contacted me. We managed to show with deeds that
Spencer & Mirea Spears were neighbors of Corbin & Frances Lane in Scott
Co, VA, and thus showed a likelyhood that Ruth was a dau of Corbin &
Frances. Sadly, Polly passed away last summer. All of the data at the
GenCircles site came from our research effort. I have seen a few new lines
appearing on the internet recently.
I use PAF 5 for my data. If you would like to exchange some data as ged
files (with my documentation), let me know. Most of my work results have been on
the Lane lines that stayed in the SW Va and NE Tenn region, but
of course I am interested in getting as much info as possible for all of
the lines.

I have a blank wall with my GGrandfather Jesse or Jessie Collins, he was married
to Thursy(Thursie) or Thressey Thompson and in the 1880 cencus of Logan Co,WV he
was living in the household of Patton Thompson. I think Patton was Thursy's
Father but it could have been her brother. Jessie was listed as widower
and my Grandfather William Clark Collins was with him and he was listed as 5
years old but he was 7 or 8 at the time. Jessie and Thursey had another
son Anthony who went to live with anotherThompson family in Pike Co. Ky. I
know that when my Grandfather was young, the lived near the shaker settlement
and I understand that Jessie was a sheriff. Do you know where the shaker
settlement is and what county it is in. I think I joined the list for your
site sometime ago. Is there anyway to check? I don't know if I will get up next
year in June but would love to come. I went to Huntington,WV for Memorial Day
and played for 19 days. I did a lot of research.

The Collins/Blevins/Tackett branches of my family tree have been tough ones for
me to trace. I have been unable to hook up with any other cousins searching
these lines, so I'm HUNGRY for any scrap of

mi up Shelby Creek from the Levisa Fork. Though proposed for thee local
po
by Jairus Collins of
Goodwill, Wva in 1920 , this name was rejected and the po was
established
on July 20, 1920 as Elkseam. The office closed in August 1925 and the
Elkseam name apparently retired with it. Collins
Station may first have been located some distance below the present site
owned by Meredith Collins,
for whom it could have been named.
Robinson Creek: The first PO was established by David May on May 27,
1848.
It was discontinued
in Sept. 1848 and its papers were sent to Little Creek PO, in Nov. 1888
its
pm , Thos. R. May had
its name changed back to Robinson Creek.

I have Thomas COLLINS m. Nancy WILLIAMS. This Thomas was born ca 1770
in Wilkes County, NC and died March 15, 1846 in Knott County, KY.
Nancy and he married ca 1800 in NC. I have census records from Wilkes
County along with various other listings of the names that you sent me
from above.
1782 Samuel had 100 acres according to a tax list.
1784 George and Ambrose each had one poll.
1788 Ambrose, Valentine, George, Martin with 1 poll.
1789 Samuel has 100 acres. census for 1790 lists THomas family as FPC.
Samuel as white, Ambrose as white, David, George, Hardy as white.
1800 in Ashe County lists Ambrose, Thomas, Vudery, Valentine as non
whites. what do you make of that?
1810 Thomas's family listes as FPC. ok are you confused yet? I think
this line has me confused all the time....however, I think that the
line you are referring to has to be the one that I have come across

I am a "Collins" on both sides. I found alot on my fathers side, but
not having much luck on my mothers side. I know her father was killed in
1952 at the age of 34. In Harlan Co. Kentucky. His name was Paul Davis
Collins, his daddy's name was A.C. "Mack" Collins and his moms name was
Mary Jane Davis. Paul had 4 brothers and sisters Cecil, Richard,
Dorathy, and Glen. I heard A.C. Collins had 2 half sisters named Janie
Lawson "Bays" and Amanda Lawson "Woolum". I wish i could give you more
info. but no-one in my family seems to be able to help me out any. I

Johnson Farm Cemetery
History: The cemetery is located in Anderson/Franklin County line in
Kentucky. The farm is now in non-family hands. Cemetery has been left to
grow in weeds, due to vandalism in the past.
Most markers were extremely difficult to read, therefore, I cannot
certify the dates.
