SPILSBY DANIEL  --- Virginia,#S21158       Microfilm Roll #629
     Applied 5 June 1834 in Fentress County, Tennessee. He thinks he
was 15 years old when he enlisted in what is now Russell
County, Virginia for a tour of six months under Capt. William Bowen
against the Indians -- spring before Kings Mt. Was at Bowen`s Fort.
Continued to live in western part of Virginia for 20 years after the
war and then moved to Cumberland County, Ky. and stayed many years,
then to Wayne County, Ky. for several years, thence to Overton
County, Tenn. for 8 to 10 years , thence to where he now lives. He was
born in Bedford County, Va. His parents died when he was young. His
widow, Sally, applied at Clinton County, Ky. on 19 June 1858, aged 70
years on 28 September next. Her maiden name was Sally Asberry. She
married Spilsby in Wythe County, Va. Was raised within 3 or 4 miles of
her husband. He served under Capt. Moses Cockrel and one Andy Smith
(who died in Cumberland County about two years ago and was a pensioner
for his services) served with him. She, her husband, and three
children moved from Wythe County to Cumberland County and have lived
near the same place all the time --- this place now being included in
Clinton County. Spilsby died 15 March 1852 in Clinton County.
 


LILES DOLSBERRY --- New York, #S17929
      Applied 18 November 1833 while a resident of Tazewell County.
Aged 73 years. Born 11 May 1760 on Mohawk River. Residence in 1776
was Bedford County. In April 1777 he enlisted in Washington
County, Virginia under James Dickinson. In 1778 he enlisted in Detroit
Campaign. Was at Rye Cove. Sworn to by Haz Whitt and Aaron
Higginbotham. Died 2 August 1850. Left no widow or children. (A
letter in this file from Rebecca G. Kimball of Cambridge, Ohio, dated
1923, requests info on this man; however, and the will of Liles
Dolsberry mentions grandchildren -- Tz Will Bk 3)
