Former Citizen Died at Ashland
R J Butler of the late Mr. and Mrs. G W Butler, former resident of Johnson County died in Ashland July 2, age 58 years.
He was a teacher for eleven years in this county. Mr. Butler, lived a consistent Christian life for many years and was loved and respected by all who knew him.
He married Miss Nancy Jane Turner of Ashland where he has resided for the past 26 years, being a traveling salesman for Consolidation Grocery Company, being widely known in this section of the state where he had a host of family and friends.
The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon July 4th at the Pallard Baptist church by the Rev. McGraw of the church of God and Rev W. K. Wood of Pollard.
The funeral offerings were many and beautiful.
Besides his wife, Mrs. Nancy J Butler, he leaves six daughters and three sons to mourn his passing. They are : Mrs. W L Wilcox Huntington WV; Mrs. S M Meade Ashland; and Misses Mary Madge, Marjorie and Sybil all at home and Robert Jr., Walter Grey and Samury S.
He also leaves two brothers and five sisters, Mrs. Wm McKenzie, Mrs. J F Witten, Mr. C M Lemaster, Mrs. Fred Meade and Mrs. Ella Butler all of Paintsville, and Julia Hickman Charley Ky.
