Pearlie Osborne Johnson

    With the help of the Lord I will try to write the obituary of my dear mother Pearlie O. Johnson, born Sept 13, 1903. She departed from us Nov 16 1972, making her stay on earth 69 years, 2 months, and 3 days. She was the daughter of Epp and Leander Hall Osborne. Mom married Riley Johnson in June 1917, and unto this union were born 16 children.

    Two sets of twins died at birth. Twelve are still living: Eight girls: Lone Childers, Leona Newsome, Marie Woodrow, Rose Ann Martin, Louise Elswick, Juanita Caudill, Bulah June Tackett and Emma Joyce Edge. and four boys: Hershell, Russell, Riley Jr, and Tommie  Johnson. Mom had 50 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. When Dad died March 4, 1947, he left Mom with eight children still at home.  She raised them and did a wonderful job. She joined the Old Regular Baptist Church the 4th Sunday in June, 1948 and was baptized the first Saturday in July. She lived a true and faithful life until Sweet Jesus  called her home.

    I believe with all my heart Mom is in Heaven. Oh! Mom, how we  all love and miss you, but I hope to meet you some sweet day, where thereis no more sorrow, pain or death.
