Wittensville Man Dies In Ohio

Services Held Tuesday For James H. Hampton

    James Henry Hampton, 30, Wittensville, died July 1, in a hospital in Middletown, Ohio, following an illness of a year. Born September 5,1925, at Wittensville, he was the son of Harry and Virgie Young Hampton. He served in the Navy three years and was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal.

    Surviving besides his parents are his wife, Eula Elaine Collins Hampton, one son, Russell, at home, one daughter, Cindy Lucille, at home, three brothers, Jack and Howard Hampton, Wittensville and Bill Hampton, Thealka, and six sisters, Mrs. Sarah M. Tackett, Mrs. Virginia Frazier and Mrs. Clarence Butcher, all of Wittensville, Mrs. Virgil Mollett, Springfield, Ohio, Mrs. Josie Tackett, Staffordsville and Mrs. Gertrude Castle, Franklin, Ohio. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at the home of his parents with Claude Preston and Joe Lyons as officiating ministers.

    Burial was made in the family cemetery under the direction of the Preston Funeral Home.
