JOHNSON COUNTY SOLIDER BOY KILLED IN WYOMING

    Robert May formerly of Van Lear, but lately a solider in the U.S. Army, stationed at Fort S.E. Warren, Wyoming, met instant death in a car wreck near that place December 18.

    The body was shipped to Van Lear for burial. Five soliders were in the car at the time three of whom, including young May were killed. Young May was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles May and was born
at Van Lear July 18, 1918, being 22 years old. Besides his parents, he is survived by two other brothers, both in the Army, Glenn May, in North Carolina, and Russell May, in IL; also one sister at home.

    Funeral services were held at the home at Van Lear at 1 o’clock December 23, Rev. Leonard Bowling, Hitchens, KY., had charge of the services. Burial was made in the Barber Cemetery on Davis Branch. Pallbearers were composed of other solider boys who were home for the holidays. The undertaking department of the Paintsville Furniture Company had charge.
