Mirza Dixon Borders

    Mrs. Mirza Dixon Borders Boyd 85 years old, died January 3 at her home near River, Ky. Daughter of the late Henry Dixon and Jane Stafford Dixon, Mrs. Boyd was the last of the family, all her brothers and sisters having preceded her in death.

    Mrs. Boyd was married to Jasper [A misprint in the paper. Should be "Joseph."] Borders in 1880. To this union were born nine [Misprint. Should read "Ten."] Children, six [Misprint. Should read "seven."] of whom survive. Surviving were Mrs. E. E. Brown, Fort Gay, West Va.; Harrison Borders, Pikeville, Ky.; Mrs. Ham Wallen, Nathan Borders and Mrs. John Meek, all three of River; Lewis Borders, Gallup, Ky. and Mrs. Jay Daniel, Cincinnati Ohio. Also surviving are 43 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.

    Deceased children of Mrs. Boyd were Bennie Leona and Virgie Borders. Mr. Borders died in 1918 and Mrs. Borders married John Boyd of Catlettsburg in 1922. Mr. Boyd died in 1930. Mrs. Boyd was a member of the United Baptist Church. She was the grandmother of Mrs. Homer Daniel of Paintsville.
