Mrs. Z C Ward Dies of Blood Poison

                A death that came as a great shock to the people of this section was the sudden death of Mrs. Zollie C. Ward which occurred last Sunday in the Paintsville Hospital after a short illness.

                Mrs. Ward had accidentally scratched her hand on the thorn of a rose bush while picking roses for Decoration Day. At first little attention was paid the small scratch but it developed later that blood poisoning had set up and she was taken to the hospital where he condition was pronounced serious. She continued to get worse and passed away last Sunday night.

                Her remains were taken to Oil Springs Tuesday for burial. Mrs. Ward was one of the County's best women, a devoted Christian and kind, loving mother and wife. The family moved to Paintsville about two years ago from their farm near Paintsville and Mr. Ward is connected with the Mountain Furniture Company of this city. She leaves her husband and two daughters, Mrs. Hopkins Preston and Miss Stella ward, and one son, Archie Ward.

                Rev Foley of the M E Church of Paintsville conducted the funeral services and many friends and relatives gathered to pay the last tribute to this noble Christian woman. The community has lost a good women in her death, and the sympathy of all is extended to the family.
