Two Held in Slaying of Landrum Hall at Tomahawk
Landrum Hall, age about 45, was shot and instantly killed at Tomahawk, on Stafford Fork, in Martin County, last Sunday afternoon.
Warrants have been issued for Millard Gillespie and his son, Lloyd Gillespie, who are in the Martin County Jail, charged with the crime.
Hall was shot twice, once through the neck and once through the side of the head. Either of the two shots would have proven fatal, it is reported.
According to information from that section Hall and Lloyd Gillespie had engaged in a fight but apparently had settled their difficulties and had made friends. The two men then left together going up the creek toward Hall's home. Later the dead body was found at the roadside near the home of Jeff Baldridge.
Gillespie and his son deny any connection with the death of Hall. The principals in the slaying live in the same neighborhood. Examining trial for the two men have been set for Saturday before Martin County Judge T J Hardin.
